Odyssey, a startup specializing in world models, has raised $310 million in a funding round that includes investment arms from Amazon, Nvidia, and AMD. The round values the company at $1.45 billion, according to sources familiar with the deal.

The investment underscores Amazon's deepening push into AI infrastructure. As part of the agreement, Odyssey will use AWS as its preferred cloud partner and deploy Amazon's custom Trainium chips for training its models.

Odyssey focuses on building world models—AI systems that simulate physical environments, a technology critical for autonomous systems and robotics. The startup's work aligns with growing industry interest in AI that can understand and predict real-world interactions.

The $310 million round is one of the larger recent investments in the world models space. Participating investors beyond Amazon include Nvidia and AMD, both of which are also expanding their AI hardware ecosystems.

Financial details beyond the valuation and funding amount were not disclosed. The partnership positions Amazon's cloud and chip offerings against competitors like Google's TPUs and Microsoft's Azure.
