LeBron James scored 29 points, including a tying three-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation, as the Lakers defeated the Rockets 112-108 in overtime Friday night. The win gives Los Angeles a commanding 3-0 lead in the first-round series.
The Rockets were without star Kevin Durant, whose absence was felt on both ends of the floor. Houston managed to push the game to overtime but couldn't overcome James' clutch performance and the Lakers' depth.
James added eight rebounds and seven assists in the win. Anthony Davis contributed 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Austin Reaves chipped in 18 points off the bench for Los Angeles.
A victory in Game 4 would seal the series for the Lakers, who have won three straight after dropping the regular-season finale. Houston faces elimination and must find a way to contain James without Durant.
The Rockets will need significant adjustments to extend the series. Coach Ime Udoka emphasized defensive communication as a priority heading into the next matchup.
