Cursor, the AI coding startup that recently secured a deal with SpaceX, is launching a major hiring push across Asia-Pacific. The company plans to add 200 employees in Singapore, Japan, Australia, and India over the next six months, according to field engineer Nick Miller.
The San Francisco-based firm is primarily seeking go-to-market specialists, field engineers, and AI deployment engineers to accelerate customer adoption. This regional expansion follows the opening of a Singapore office earlier this month, led by Simon Green, a former Palo Alto Networks executive.
Cursor is also preparing to open a London office in July, with additional smaller European offices in the pipeline. The company's second hire in Singapore will be a recruiter, Miller noted, signaling sustained growth ambitions beyond the current hiring spree.
For a startup building developer tools in a competitive AI coding market, this expansion suggests strong demand and a bet on global adoption. The focus on customer-facing roles indicates a push to convert technical wins into recurring revenue.
Some industry observers question whether rapid geographic scaling can outpace product maturity, especially as rivals like GitHub Copilot and Replit compete for the same talent pool.
