The Detroit Pistons shook up their roster Tuesday, trading guard Caris LeVert and two second-round draft picks to the Milwaukee Bucks for Taurean Prince and Gary Harris.
The move is a clear salary dump. Detroit sheds LeVert's expiring $16.6 million contract while bringing back Prince and Harris, both on smaller deals that give the front office more financial flexibility. For Milwaukee, adding LeVert provides backcourt depth alongside Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton.
LeVert, 29, averaged 11.2 points and 3.1 assists in 24 games for the Pistons this season. Prince and Harris, both former Michigan State standouts, return to the state—Prince as a versatile wing and Harris as a veteran guard.
The deal does little to alter the Pistons' lottery-bound trajectory but clears books for a potential summer spending spree. Milwaukee, currently third in the East, bolsters its rotation without sacrificing core pieces.
Neither team has publicly commented on the trade, but reports indicate the Pistons intend to remain active ahead of the February 8 deadline.
