Respond.io, a Kuala Lumpur-based startup that uses AI agents to manage customer conversations, has raised a $62.5 million Series B round. The round was led by Camber, a venture capital firm. This follows a $7 million Series A the company raised in 2022.

The company was founded in 2017 to address a fundamental problem: businesses struggled to keep up with customers who had migrated to messaging apps. The platform leverages AI to help companies handle high volumes of customer interactions across multiple messaging channels.

The Series B brings Respond.io's total known funding to $69.5 million. It represents a significant leap from its earlier round, signaling strong investor confidence in the company's growth trajectory and market position.

The new capital will likely be used to expand the platform's capabilities and reach. Competitors in the customer conversation space are also attracting substantial investment, making this a highly competitive segment.

Camber's investment indicates a bet on AI-driven customer engagement solutions, particularly those serving enterprises in rapidly digitizing markets across Southeast Asia.
