A counterfeit application posing as the official Ledger crypto wallet on Apple's Mac App Store has resulted in a significant theft of Bitcoin. The fake software tricked users into entering their sensitive recovery phrases, leading to the loss of digital assets.
The malicious app drained nearly 6 BTC from musician Garrett Dutton, known professionally as G. Love. According to a report by BeInCrypto, the stolen cryptocurrency was worth more than $424,000 at the time of the incident. Dutton detailed the loss in an April 11 post on the social media platform X.
