Amazon and Best Buy have slashed the price of Apple's latest AirTag four-pack to $90, a $9 discount that marks the lowest price since the trackers launched earlier this year. The deal brings the cost of each unit to roughly $22.50 for Prime Day shoppers. Costco is offering a five-pack for $99.99 to its members, effectively including a fifth tracker at no extra cost.
The discount arrives ahead of July 4th travel and follows the release of the second-generation AirTag, which offers improved precision finding with onscreen arrows and vibrations. The Verge recommends the device for iPhone users over competing Bluetooth trackers, citing its ability to guide users directly to items rather than just showing approximate locations.
While the $9 savings is modest, it is the first time the newer model has been discounted this heavily since its debut. Original AirTags also offered strong tracking capabilities, but the updated version extends guidance range up to nearly 60 feet. Consumers can purchase the four-pack deal from either major retailer, with Costco's five-pack priced at $99.99.
Competing trackers from Tile and Samsung lack the same precision-finding features available to Apple device owners. The AirTag relies on the vast Find My network of iPhones to locate lost items, giving it a coverage advantage over rivals. Travelers and frequent gadget users may find the deal particularly timely.
The five-pack at Costco offers the best per-unit value at roughly $20 each, though it requires a membership. Independent testing has consistently ranked AirTags as the most reliable Bluetooth trackers for iOS users, though some privacy advocates have raised concerns about potential misuse for stalking.
