Larry Nance Jr. has agreed to a one-year contract with the Indiana Pacers, the team announced today, marking his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers after a second stint with his hometown franchise. The 31-year-old forward, a Revere High School graduate, will bring veteran depth to Indiana's frontcourt.
Nance, known for his high-energy play and defensive versatility, averaged 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game last season. He shot 55.9% from the field and provided a reliable interior presence off the bench.
This move reshuffles the Eastern Conference landscape, as the Pacers—a team that reached the conference finals last season—add a seasoned big man to a rotation already featuring Myles Turner and Pascal Siakam. The Cavaliers lose a familiar face and locker room leader but gain flexibility under the salary cap.
The deal is expected to be finalized pending a physical exam. Nance will join his new teammates for training camp later this month, with the Pacers' regular season tipping off in late October.
“I’m excited for this next chapter,” Nance said in a team statement. “Indiana plays hard every night, and I want to help us compete at the highest level.”
