The countdown to Bitcoin's next programmed supply reduction has reached a significant milestone. The network is now halfway through its current halving cycle, which began after the last event in April 2024.
Approximately 105,000 blocks remain until the next halving occurs at block height 1,050,000. When that block is mined, the reward for miners will be cut from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC. This event is estimated to take place in April 2028, continuing the cryptocurrency's predictable, disinflationary monetary policy.
